What are the dangers of not replacing the air filter for a long time? The air filter directly affects the air intake of the engine during the driving of the car. First of all, if there is no filtering effect of the air filter, the engine will inhale a large amount of gas containing floating dust and particles, causing serious wear of the engine cylinder; secondly, if no maintenance is performed for a long time, the filter element of the air filter will stick to the air On the dust, this will not only reduce the filtering ability, but also hinder the circulation of the gas, accelerate the carbon deposition rate of the cylinder, make the engine ignition not smooth, lack of power, and naturally increase the fuel consumption of the vehicle. The process of changing the air filter yourself The first step is to open the hood and determine the location of the air filter. The air filter is usually located on the left side of the engine compartment, above the left front tire. You can see a square plastic black box in which the filter element is installed. You simply lift up on the two metal buckles to lift the top cover of the air filter. Some automotive systems will also use screws to secure the air filter. At this point, you must choose a suitable screwdriver to unscrew the screws in the air filter box and take out the air filter. The second step is to take out the air filter and check if there is more dust. You can gently tap the end surface of the filter, or use air compression to clean the dust inside the filter from the inside to the outside, avoid using tap water for cleaning.
